Safety management has progressed significantly over the past several decades. Paper reports, filing cabinets, and manually maintained spreadsheets gradually gave way to electronic forms, digital inspections, and online reporting systems.
That transition improved accessibility, consistency, and recordkeeping—but digitizing a form did not necessarily connect the information behind it.
Today, many organizations still manage safety through separate systems for incident reporting, audits, inspections, risk assessments, training, corrective actions, equipment, compliance, and operational performance. Valuable information exists across the business, but the systems holding it often do not communicate with one another. Teams must repeatedly enter the same data, reconcile conflicting records, manually interpret reports, and search for patterns across disconnected sources.
The result is more data, but not always better intelligence.
Built From Operational Experience
ASIP Technologies was founded by Levi Blount, CSP, following his experience leading safety, quality, health, security, and environmental management across the North American operations of a global aviation ground-handling organization.
His responsibilities extended across approximately 90 airports and a workforce of approximately 17,000 employees supporting multiple aviation services and hundreds of airline and business relationships.
The complexity was significant. No two airport operations were exactly alike. Each location had its own workforce, leadership structure, customers, operating environment, contractual requirements, and risk profile. Federal requirements were accompanied by state and local obligations, while individual airline customers maintained their own procedures, manuals, standards, and reporting expectations.
The organization achieved meaningful year-over-year reductions in injuries and operational accidents through strong leadership and the work of committed safety and operational teams. However, safety professionals, station leaders, and support functions still faced a common industry challenge: too much time was spent entering, transferring, validating, and interpreting data across multiple systems.
ASIP was created in response to that challenge.
From Safety Data to Safety Intelligence
ASIP—Advanced Safety Intelligence Platform—is being developed as a connected enterprise environment for managing safety, operational risk, compliance, and organizational learning.
Rather than treating each safety function as an isolated workflow, ASIP is designed to connect information across the organization. A report, inspection, training record, risk assessment, operational change, or corrective action should not remain trapped within the system where it originated. It should contribute to a broader understanding of exposure, performance, and emerging risk.
ASIP is also designed for the next evolution of safety management: the responsible application of artificial intelligence.
Machine learning can help identify patterns, deviations, and developing risk signals across large datasets. Large language models can make complex safety information easier to search, understand, and use. Governed AI agents can continuously review information, identify overdue actions, surface changes, and help safety professionals focus their attention where it is needed most.
These capabilities are intended to support—not replace—professional judgment, workforce participation, operational leadership, or accountable decision-making. Explainability, evidence, human oversight, security, and responsible AI governance are foundational requirements of the platform.
