These examples are illustrative calculations based on published prices. They do not include every implementation, configuration, integration, training, support, or add-on cost.
For a large, multi-location organization, separate subscriptions for incident reporting, audits, inspections, training, safety data sheets, regulatory recordkeeping, equipment management, corrective actions, and analytics can collectively become a substantial six-figure annual expense—while still leaving safety information divided between systems.

- $54.9 billion in wage and productivity losses
- $36.8 billion in medical expenses
- $64.5 billion in administrative expenses
- $48,000 per medically consulted injury
- $1.54 million per workplace death[7]
These figures measure the wider economic impact to workers, employers, and society. They include lost productivity, medical expenses, administrative expenses, employers’ uninsured costs, and certain property losses. They should not be interpreted as costs borne exclusively by employers.
Employer-specific costs remain significant. OSHA reports that disabling nonfatal workplace injuries generate more than $1 billion per week in direct workers’ compensation costs in the United States.[8]
Behind every figure is an injured employee, a family affected, an operational team disrupted, and an organization responding to an event that may have been preventable.
Better Safety Systems Create Measurable Value
Safety technology alone cannot create a safe workplace. Effective outcomes require leadership, workforce participation, professional judgment, operational controls, and accountable follow-through.
However, the right system can make each of those elements more effective.
OSHA states that effective safety and health programs can significantly reduce injuries and illnesses, lower workers’ compensation and medical expenses, reduce lost productivity, engage employees, and improve overall business operations.[8][9]
